We are currently seeking a skilled construction and building tradesperson to join our team as we expand into property development and commercial renovations.
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced tradesperson to undertake a variety of tasks related to the construction and building trades. The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set and the ability to work on various aspects of construction projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform a range of construction tasks, including but not limited to carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and procedures.
• Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively to carry out unique construction projects.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, steel, and other materials.
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, and molding.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and work required.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and construction managers to ensure project success.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during construction projects and inspect and repair damaged structures.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout all phases of construction.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a construction tradesperson in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, or similar.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in using various hand, power tools and specialized construction tools and equipment.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour.
• Relevant certifications or trade qualifications (preferred but not required).
Experience:
• Minimum of five years of experience in construction or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more construction trades.
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational training or apprenticeships in relevant construction trades (preferred).
Work Environment:
• Work will be performed on construction sites with exposure to various weather conditions.
• Safety gear and equipment will be provided and must be used as required.
